Hi, I’m Jessica.
I am dedicated to helping children reach their potential by listening, providing empathy, and empowering them to discover themselves.
As a teen, I experienced many difficult challenges. For me and for many, adolescence is a difficult time where we are typically treated as children while we are expected to act like adults. I understand the feeling of not being heard or seen and not feeling worthy enough to be validated. It has since become my passion to be that advocate for others, especially for the younger generation.
In work and in life, I have always been passionate about advocating for children and teens, and this is where I have chosen to specialize. I am dedicated to helping children reach their potential by listening, providing empathy, and empowering them to discover themselves.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Brigham Young University- Idaho and continued my education at the University of Arkansas for my Master’s in Counseling. During my graduate school years, I focused my training on children and adolescents and was then introduced to the magical world of play therapy. I learned that play was the natural language of children and toys became their words. Additionally, I learned the impact of connecting your mind, body, and soul through expressive arts and mindfulness and saw the significant change it provided to teens and young adults.
I have experience in anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and life transitions. I have worked in a variety of settings including clinical facilities, schools, and homes. I honor the relationship I have with my clients, and I’m dedicated to helping them reach their highest potential.
